What is the best purchase you have ever made?
When I was newly married, we lived in an apartment. Laundry was in the basement. Timing was critical. Six families shared one machine.
Fast forward to a year later. We had a home. There was a laundromat mat in town, tons of machines. Laundry was fast and easy.
Then, wonder of wonders, we bought our very own washer after a neighbor offered us their old dryer. They were upgrading.
I was in heaven. Laundry whenever I wanted. No quarter collection, nor special schedule to get clean clothes. I still remember that feeling (it lasted several years) of the good fortune those two machines bestowed.
