What is your why? I started writing in sixth grade. Our class was charged with monthly book reports. We had a bookmobile that came on the first Friday of each month. Six students were allowed to go and choose a few books, then the next six, etc., until the whole class (we had about 60 kids, so it was an almost all-day thing).
One month, laziness overcame my reading self. I actually love to read. I could sit all day reading, getting immersed in another world. But this particular month, very close to Spring, the reader in me abandoned ship.
Book reports were due on the last Friday of the month. AGH! So I wrote my own story to do a book report on. I called it “Sink or Swim” about twins. Guess what they were doing.
I got a B+. It was fun. So, I figured I must be a writer. And so I am. And I enjoy the process, even it if is imperfect.
What’s your why?
