Worry

What’s something you used to worry about but don’t anymore?

When I was a child, I worried about being able to read. Got that down pat by third grade.

Then I think every kid worried about the bomb being dropped on our world. Not so much that we would die, but that we would be separated from our family and maybe never find them in the aftermath. Didn’t realize there would be no aftermath. So, we did drills of getting under our desk, or lining the halls, hold your head, and pray. Like that would work. Well, maybe the praying did work because the bomb never dropped.

Later, more adult worries flooded my mind. Worrying didn’t help anything, didn’t solve problems. Just used up brain space.

I try not to worry anymore. Sometimes that feeling pops up in my chest. It’s the familiar worry/dread. When it becomes too burdensome, I ask my guardian angel or whatever energy surrounds me to fix it. My angel does fix most things. Then I’m grateful. Which is a beautiful emotion.
